The Anti-Industrial Revolution

Ayn Rand analyzes the arguments and underlying motivation of the “ecology” movement, the forerunner of today’s environmentalism, as it emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Separating legitimate concerns about pollution from the movement’s deeper animus toward industrial civilization and technological progress, Rand explains her view of the proper relationship between human beings and their environment.

Note: Lectures seven and eight consist of newly recorded content, additions that Ayn Rand made to her original 1970 speech, and are presented here by a voiceover artist.
